The Purpose of T-Shirt Labels

To begin with, a label exists to convey a message. The label's job is to clearly display all of the information your customer requires, as well as all of the brand and pricing information the seller wishes to display, in an easy-to-find and unobtrusive location.

For decades, we've been in the labeling business, and we've printed millions of labels and tags for T-Shirt designers and manufacturers just like you. What we've noticed over the years is that whenever we make a T-Shirt label or tag, it's there for one of two reasons...

If the label promotes the designer's brand (such as a neck label) or advertises a price (such as a swing tag), it is there for commercial reasons.The label's job is to help sell more T-Shirts

A compliance tag is one that includes wash care instructions, the country of origin, a cotton/polyester blend, or the size. This type of communication keeps customers safe and informed. It also ensures that the T-Shirt seller complies with all applicable local labeling laws.

Your T-Shirt labels will need to convey both commercial and compliance messages, but you won't always need to purchase more than one label. If you're working with pre-made blank T-Shirts (as some of ourvinyl screen print designer clients do), the wash care and size labels are often already stitched into the hip seam for you, and all you need to do is add your branding (a process called relabelling). In fact, most of our T-Shirt labeling customers can fit everything they need onto two sides of a loop-fold woven label and a swing tag.
